Marius has been extensively involved with the music industry in Port Elizabeth for most of his life. Not only has he played in a number of bands in PE but heads up the organizational side of 40 PLUS. Marius writes and composes all the original music played by the band. Affectionately known to the band & friends as “Blesbok”

Ferdi has also been involved with the music industry in Port Elizabeth in conjunction with brother Marius. Not only does he play keyboard, but extends his competence to compliment the band with his concertina talents.

Ferdi is Affectionately known as “Boepie” to his friends.

Mike has played bass for numerous groups over the years and become known for his “running style” of playing. This adds to the color of our music and his definite identity of interpretation.

He further compliments the band with his backing vocals and graphic talents. Mike is more commonly known as “Plukkie”

Brian has also had the privilege of playing for a number of different groups over the years having been exposed to a great variation of music styles. His heart however lays with Jazz and Latin American.

He is commonly tasked with attempting to repair all and sundry in the band and has thus inherited the nick name “Spanner”

Mike has added a new dimension to 40 PLUS with his outstanding talent on Lead. He is the son of Marius Mey and not only does he bring immense color to our music, but further runs his own recording studio (Studio of Note) which in turn he makes available to the band. Mike is affectionately referred to as “Spike”
